To achieve the goal of helping children develop healthy eating habits and positive attitudes about nutrition, the Association for Child Development provides supportive services and materials FREE OF CHARGE to the Home Child Care Providers it sponsors.
- Partial monetary reimbursement: Providers are reimbursed at a rate set by the United States Department of Agriculture for serving either two meals and one snack or one meal and two snacks per day care child per day. Reimbursement is extra income each month!
- One-on-one training: knowledgeable, friendly Field Representatives visit providers in their homes to share up-to-date nutrition information pertinent to the Child and Adult Care Food Program, monitor for Child and Adult Care Food Program compliance, and answer questions.
- Nutrition newsletter: Each month, Providers receive a newsletter, Potpourri, in the mail which focuses on nutrition and health for children and Child and Adult Care Food Program participation guidelines and policies. It also includes articles on child development, educational activities, recipes, consumer and legislative updates, arts and crafts, ideas for running a successful business, and much more.
- Quality customer service: Customer Service Representatives are accessible by a toll-free telephone call to answer questions and provide assistance.
- Training materials: Each Provider is supplied with two easy to follow manuals. The Introductory Handbook explains the how-tos of participating with the CACFP under the Association's sponsorship. What's in a Meal? explains how to plan, prepare, serve, and credit nutritious meals and snacks that meet CACFP requirements.
- Premier Software: C-K KIDS is a comprehensive program that helps Providers manage every aspect of their child care business, from submitting monthly claims via the Internet (which eliminates paper, postage, and costly errors) to creating invoices and certificates. - Educational workshops: Association for Child Development staff lead interactive training sessions about nutrition and participating with the CACFP, from Kitchen Science to Nutrition Jeopardy to Serving Nutritious Snacks on a Budget.
- Professional affiliation: Participating with the CACFP is a marketing tool that appeals to the parents of day care children.
- Time saving materials: Pre-approved, Menu Magic meals and snacks save Providers time and money.
- Desktop Calendar and Record Keeper: Each Provider is given a calendar that includes record keeping charts to help organize business and tax preparation records as well as remember important dates.
- Direct Deposit: Providers may choose to have their monthly reimbursement deposited directly into a checking or savings account. - Secure 24-hour Access to Your Account Information: Once a member of the Association for Child Development, your account information, including check amounts and a listing of children enrolled, will be available to you through our secure anduser-friendly website.

Participation Materials: The Association for Child Development provides you with materials necessary for participating with the CACFP, including carbonless duplicate forms (no need to make copies) and pre-paid envelopes.
