What is ACD?
The Association for Child
Development (ACD) is a nonprofit organization that educates parents
and caregivers about nutrition to promote the development of children and establish healthy eating habits to last a lifetime.

What is the CACFP?
The Child & Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and provides partial reimbursement to Licensed/Registered Providers, Relative Care Providers, and Certified License-Exempt Providers for serving nutritious foods to the children in their care.

Are you a Child Care Provider?
If you are a Licensed/Registered Provider, a Relative Care Provider, or a Certified License-Exempt Provider caring for children in your home, you may be eligible to participate with the CACFP. ACD is a sponsor of the CACFP in Illinois and Michigan.
There is no cost to participate.

NEWS UPDATE !
On May 31st, the Illinois General Assembly passed a budget that will have devastating eects on
children and families. If new revenue sources are not identied by July 1st, major cuts to human
services and education programs will go into eect. Up to 80,000 families - roughly 150,000
children - will lose their child care, and Preschool for All could be eliminated for the 100,000
children currently in the program.
This budget will go into eect on July 1st unless we change its destiny.
